SegPlay^® PC Pattern Sets

Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828) was a renown Spanish artist best known for his subversive, satirical, and objective style. Although officially employed as a Spanish court painter, his best work was done apart from his official duties. Our SegPlayPC™ Goya collection comprises 26 patterns of his best works. There are several self portraits, nude and clothed Maja, numerous portraits (Dutchess of Alba, Isidoro Máiquez, Countess of Chichon, José Antonio, Juan Martin Diaz, Maria Teresa, Sabasa Garcia), and a number of period scenes (The Grape Harvest, Water Carrier, The Parasol). We’ve also included his dramatic and influential The Third of May 1808: The Execution of the Defenders of Madrid. There are also several from his Black Paintings (The Colossus, Saturn Devouring his Son, Duel with Cudgels, and Witches Sabbath).

Francisco Zurbarán (1598 – 1664) was a Spanish Painter who is primarily known for his religious oriented works of art which were depicted using a realistic style called chiaroscuro (contrasting light and dark areas).. The set title lays reference to the Italian painter Caravaggio who also excelled at chiaroscuro. Another characteristic in Zurbarán’s paintings is his renditions of drapes and robes. His subjects were usually a single figure of a religious theme. Our pattern set includes most of his most recognized works including Christ and the Virgin in the House of Nazareth, Saint Francis, The Death of St. Bonaventure, St. Apollonia, Madonna with Child, L’Annonciation, Agnus Dei ,Saint Serapion, Saint Rufina, The Young Virgin, and St. Casilda of Burgos. There is also a self-portrait included.

Frans Hals (1580-1666) was a Dutch Golden Age painter who is best known for his many portrait paintings. His style is noted for a loose brush style and also helped evolve the 17th century group portraiture. He lived most of his life in the city of Haarlem, where his talents for painting were greatly in demand, particularly by wealthy citizens. Our collection of patterns contains many of his most recognizable paintings including Jester with a Lute, Portrait of René Descartes, Pieter van dem Broecke, Malle Babbe, Marriage Portrait of Isaac Massa, Two Boys Singing, and The Laughing Cavalier.

Franz Marc (1880 – 1916) was a German Impressionist Painter who was a founding member of the Der Blaue Reiter. This journal included group of artists who formed an expressionism movement in Germany. Most of work involves animals in natural settings as a subject matter, and is characterized by bright primary colors in a cubist style. His works show a strong sense of emotion. His use of color forms a predictable pattern: the color blue was used to portray masculinity and spirituality, yellow was used to represent feminine joy, and red was used to indicate the sound of violence. In his later years, during World War 1, Marc enlisted in the German army and was involved with military camouflage. Our set of Franz Marc patterns includes many of his animal images including Blue Horse 1, The Large Blue Horses, Dead Deer, The Yellow Cow, Blue Black Fox, The Waterfall, Siberian Sheepdogs, Animals in a Landscape, Mandrill, Two Horses in Front of a Red Rock, and The Little Blue Horses. There’s also a self portrait included.

Frederic Remington (1861-1909) was an American Painter and Sculptor who skillfully depicted many scenes of the American West. His commissioned relationship with the Harper’s Weekly magazine allowed him to pursue a career in illustration and art specializing in scenes involving soldiers, pioneers, cowboys, scouts, and Indians. Our SegPlay collection contains over 30 of his most recognizable works including Fight for the Waterhole, Return of a Blackfoot Party, The Smoke Signal, The Scout: Friends or Foes?, Pool in the Desert, Self Portrait on a Horse, The Outlier, and His First Lesson. Other patterns included showcase Remington’s unique depiction of horses, buffalos, moose, and other animals, as well as US Cavalry troops, Native American Indians and Comanche, Mexican Vaqueros and American cowboys.

Daisies are a type of flower in a species called Asteraceae. Other similar flowers include asters and sunflowers. They are found nearly everywhere in the world except for the arctic regions. There most distinguishing characteristic is the flower head made up of tiny florets which share the same stem. Each floret has five petals which are fused at the base to form a tube. Daisies come in many colors including yellow, red, blue, pink, purple, and orange. Our Daisy set includes patterns created from well taken photographs of daisies in their natural settings. You’ll find both single and multiple daises in green fields, and against blue skies, taken from above and below.
