SegPlay^® PC Pattern Sets

Photography is generally used to capture a realistic view of objects and scenes. However you can also capture beautiful and abstract images with a bit of creativity. These amazing art forms show little resemblance to the original subject. Photographers use tools such as macro and zoom lens, colored lighting, cropping, off-angle vantage points, shutter speeds, film speeds, and exposure to produce artful images. Our collection of patterns in this set were created from photography taken of everyday scenes – apples, rain puddles, piles of paper, swirling lights, swimming pools, peeling paint, metal benches, and fan blades.

Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902) was a German-American landscape painter. He achieved fame by joining several trips of the Westward Expansion and painting the vast landscapes in a style known as luminism, characterized by glowing lights and a romantic mood. Although criticized for using enormous canvases and exaggerated lighting and coloring, his paintings were popular in their day, providing many viewers with a glance of the newly accessible American West. Our set of Albert Bierstadt patterns contains many works showing various landscape scenes including In the Sierras, Yosemite Valley, Call of the Wild, Seal Rock, Pikes Peak, Elk, The Coming Storm, Rocky Mountain Sheep, and San Francisco Bay.

Albrecht Dürer (1471 – 1528) was a German artist from Nuremberg. He is generally regarded as the greatest painter of the Northern Renaissance (in Europe, outside of Italy). His talents included the use of paints, woodcuts, engraving, and watercolors. He introduced classical themes in his works and applied many theories of mathematics, perspective, and ideal proportions. He influenced a great number of painters in succeeding generations. Our collection of Albrecht Dürer patterns includes several self portraits and many examples of his styles including Saint Jerome in His Study, Knight, Death, and the Devil, Melencolia, Young Hare, Adam and Eve, Praying Hands, Great Piece of Turf, and many portraits including Oswolt Krel, Hieronymus Holzschuher, Barbara Dürer, Bernhard von Reesen, Emperor Sigismund, and Elsbeth Tucher.

Alfred Sisley (1839-1899) was a French Impressionist of English origins whose work is considered the most typical for Impressionist painters, never varying much from his landscape scenes of the French countryside. His paintings capture scenery from several cities around Paris including Argenteuil, Marly, Moret, Louveciennes and Bougival.

Alfred Stevens (1823 – 1906) was a Belgian painter was the son of an art collector. He developed a conventional naturalistic style influenced by 17th century Dutch genre painting. He also studied works by painters such as Gerard ter Borch and Gabriel Metsu. He influenced social attitudes towards the poor with a work titled What is called Vagrancy. Many of his works use elegant modern woman as subjects. He also painted several works using a fashionable taste called japonisme which Stevens was an early enthusiast. UFOs are unidentified flying objects and is an object in the sky not readily identifiable to any observer as a known object. In popular culture in the 1950’s the term flying saucer was also attributed to these objects, based on several publicized sightings. Aliens are extraterrestrial life forms, typically considered to be more advanced than humans. Whether real or imaginary, UFOs and Alien creatures make for fascinating folk lore, urban legends, and science fiction entertainment. Our set of UFO and Alien patterns are based on simple illustrations which depict the most common attributes of both. You’ll find aliens with large eyes, triangular head shapes, green colored skin, thin arms and legs, and long necks, and UFOs in the form of flying saucers with pulsing lights.
